Registered Environmental Manager Training and Certification: The National Registry of Environmental Professionals (NREP) provides the nation's most comprehensive environmental course on NEPA, water, air, hazardous waste, and oil statutory requirements. The weeklong course particularly focused on environmental compliance and auditing procedures. A comprehensive four-hour exam, accompanying recommendation and board approval are required to achieve NREP's highest certification of Registered Environmental Manager (REM). The Anatomy of a Brownsfields Real Estate Project:  A comprehensive two day course on saving "greenfield" properties by understanding and overcoming perceived environmental stumbling blocks to inner city "brownfields" property rehabilitation. Executive Communications Workshop: This course was designed to prepare executives for television, radio and press interviews. Advanced CERCLA/RCRA Enforcement Seminar: Sponsored by the National Association of Attorney Generals. Various topics and issues were discussed in panel and lecture format. Hall of States, Washington, D.C.; September 24-26, 1990.

Risk Assessment Guidance for Superfund: Sponsored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Emergency Response team. Various lectures and group project case studies improved our understanding of calculating Ecological and Human Health Risk posed by Hazardous Waste. Personal Protection and Safety/Hazardous Materials Incident Response Operations: Sponsored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and presented by NUS Corporation. This course was for personnel who respond to hazardous material spills or investigate uncontrolled hazardous waste sites. It provided through lectures, slides, videos and hands-on exercises information needed to evaluate incidents, implement response operations and protect the health and safety of response personnel. The field exercises involved the utilization of level A (ultimate protection), Level B and Level C breathing apparatus and protective clothing in the conduct of incident response team functions. OSHA requirements, EPA procedures and testing equipment (radioactive and chemical contaminants) use were stressed. Leadership and Delegating Course: Sponsored by the EPA Institute. This one day course assisted managers and supervisors to improve their leadership and delegating skills. Occupational Safety and Health Course for Federal Agencies: The course provided in-depth review of the occupational Safety and Health Act, Federal Agency responsibilities, Safety and Health Program organization, OSHA standards and workplace inspection techniques. Managing Change: Sponsored by USEPA/OWPE. This course through lectures, work groups, reading materials, exercises and videos identified techniques to deal with sudden organizational changes. Contractor provided by Morasco Newton. Arlington, VA; November 12, 1992.

Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Training for Attorneys:  Sponsored by the USEPA. Through lectures FOIA, Privacy Act and Federal Advisory Committee Act responsibilities and exemptions, relevant fees, timeframes, litigation, etc. were discussed. Submerged Aquatic Vegetation (SAV) Workshop: held by NOAA (National Marine Fisheries Service). Speakers were from the EPA, Virginia Institute of Marine Science, Maryland Department of Natural Resources, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Training for First Line Supervisors and GS-13's: sponsored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The course covered how to effectively deal with attorneys and legal organizations. Base Closure, Cleanup, and Reuse Conference: sponsored by Department of Defense. This two day conference covered Environmental and Economic issues, problems and solutions associated with CERCLA/NEPA, etc. along with Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) I and II. Lectures also addressed responsibilities relating to CERFA. Grand Hotel, Washington, D.C.; July 19-20, 1993.

Recertification for Contract Managers: sponsored by the Environmental Protection Agency Institute. This course provided project officers with information on new developments of concern in procurement and how to enhance their performance in contract administration. The course reviewed statutory obligations concerning: Trade Secret Act, Procurement Integrity Act, Ethics in Government Act, Privacy Act, etc. EPA Headquarters, WIC. No. 3; November 17, 1993.

Health and Safety Refresher Course: This course provided OSHA required certification to compliment the 40 hour Health and Safety mandatory course for use at RCRA and Superfund sites. Lectures and demonstrations were designed to address hazardous substance/solid waste identification (utilizing measurement devises), protective clothing and breathing apparatus usage in order to conduct testing under OSHA requirements. Management Development Seminar for Federal Managers: was sponsored by the Office of Personnel Management. This was an intensive two week course that utilized expert lecturers and group projects to develop abilities to change and promote teamwork. Lectures concentrated on Myers/Briggs, creativity, organization innovations and Federal Laws relating to personnel matters, sexual harassment and EEO. Western Management Training Center; Aurora, Colorado; November 28 - December 9, 1994.

Lessons in Leadership: sponsored by the Covey Leadership Center. Utilizing lectures, films and group exercises this seminar taught techniques to: improve workplace relationships, eliminate poor work habits, reduce stress and institute organizational teams and peer reviews; Lecturer Stephen R.
